MAC 2015 Magic of the Night Holiday Collection

Hey guys! This is my first ever blogpost so please be kind with any comments :)

I think we can all agree that MAC's limited edition holiday collections have got to be one of the most difficult pieces to ever get your hands on, especially when you live in Australia!! When I first saw the magic of the night collection - the extra dimension skinfinish aka highlighter in ‘Oh Darling’ caught my attention & after seeing Desi Perkins, Lustrelux, Amrezy, Shayla and even Manny swatch it and go crazy for it on their snapchat I HAD TO HAVE IT!!

When we called MAC the lady told us it would be released on the 12th but when I woke up this morning and checked my snapchat (yes I am addicted) I saw that it was released today. Then began the panic; trying to find a store at 9.35am that hadn’t sold out of it already!! After trying several (7) stores finally MAC on George St had some in stock. Need I say more? Hopped on the train and off to the city it was.

Individual Swatches
  • Colourdrenched Pigments (eyeshadow) in 'Tonights the Night' .
this shadow is a beautiful teal colour with a glitter finish, although not sure if the glitter will flake off once you start blending the product on the eyes. The swatch is without any primers. packaging comes in a metallic teal/turquoise plastic case which fells less sturdy (thinner) than the normal packaging

  • Lipstick 'Evening Rendezvous'
This MATTE lipstick is a very beautiful purple / slight magenta colour. It comes packaged in a metallic purple case that again feels like cheap plastic overall the colour is amazing for all season looks! the photos really dont do the colour justice.




  • Extra Dimension Skin Finish (highlighter) in 'Shaft of Gold'
This extra dimension skinfinish reminds me of the Hourglass Ambient powders; it has a very soft subtle copper bronze glow to it, suitable for women of colour. the packaging on these feel very flimsy and cheap- pretty upsetting for a $51 product. I'm pretty sure this is still avalable at MAC for those willing to try these out. I tried to take a proper picture of the 'glow' it reflected but this colour is too close to my skin tone to show




  • Extra Dimension Skin Finish in (highlighter) 'Oh Darling'
The long awaited most popular product is finally here to show!! this colour is soooooo beautiful! it is a gorgeous warm toned gold colour with a slight rose undertone (very slight). Packaging again is pretty flimsy plastic compared to the regular skin finishes, but ITS OKAY, the colour makes up for it!! the finish of this products is a glistening 'wet look' powder that applies like butter to the skin! now i shall stop writing and let you enjoy the swatch!
